Fulton County's Adolescent Health and Youth Development (AHYD) Program strives to reduce the number of teen pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections among youth living in Fulton County.
The AHYD uses the following strategies:
Community Health Education
Community Outreach
Partners with community agencies, faith-based organizations, schools, youth and neighborhoods groups, and others
Provides community awareness and educational events on adolescent health-related issues
Links youth to clinical health services available through the Board of Health’s teen clinic now located at the Adamsville Regional Health Center.
Professional Development
Provides training opportunities on youth topics for youth-serving professionals, parents, youth, and interested community members
Identifies and links organizations to “Train the Trainer” opportunities to expand the capacity of the public health workforce to provide evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention curricula in a variety of settings
