“Fulton County is a big deal for Georgia and the region,” said Fulton County Chairman Robb Pitts. “The new Census data tells us what we already know…Fulton County is the population center, the business center, and the cultural center of this state.”
With 15 cities, Fulton County is home to approximately 10 percent of the population of Georgia, residing in approximately 494,006 available housing units.
The Census data also highlighted other key demographic data including:
For the past decade, Fulton County has grown because of migration from rural areas of Georgia and the relocation of major corporate giants to the county. A central factor in making Georgia the best state to do business, Fulton County is home to top-rated colleges and universities and approximately 126,000 businesses. More than 25 of the nation’s premier corporations are headquartered in Fulton County including 160 booming and essential fin-tech, bioscience and data innovation industries, making the county a magnet for residents who want to earn, learn, and thrive.
Fulton County is the epicenter of growth and prosperity for Georgia, and we will carefully review Census data and forthcoming redistricting that will affect Fulton County residents.
