The Fulton County Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities will host a second panel discussion Friday, April 24, 2020 beginning at 1:00 p.m. Panelists will share strategies for coping with the drastic emotional challenges that many people are experiencing while being homebound because of COVID-19. The discussion can be viewed at zoom. Participants can submit questions to Fulton.Communication@fultoncountyga.gov.
Residents can also watch the discussion on FGTV's YouTube page.
This bi-weekly series of panel discussions focuses on the realities of individuals who are facing layoffs, furloughs, and outright loss of employment. The lack of income has left many with few options for paying bills, mortgages, and buying adequate food for their families. With these sources of stress and anxiety, Behavioral Health wants to address the potential triggers and warning signs of loss of emotional control.
Clinicians will provide effective strategies for expressing emotions and feelings that can be used to cope with economic and social challenges. LaTrina Foster, Director of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities will serve as a moderator. Panelists will once again include Erika Williams Walker, Behavioral Health Program Manager, Dr. Raquel Watson, and Behavioral Health Program Manager Afrika Cotton.
The panel will answer questions, provide advice and options for resources to help families “Cope and Hope” while taking advantage of available assistance.
