One week ago two confirmed cases of COVID-19 were announced in Fulton County, and additional cases have since been identified. Fulton County continues to work closely with our Board of Health, the Georgia Department of Public Health and the CDC in monitoring COVID-19, and its impact on our residents, visitors, and employees. At this time, no closures of Fulton County facilities are planned.
As part of our prevention strategy, Fulton County departments have modified our cleaning protocols, with additional focus on high-touch areas of public facilities. Protocols are in place to clean all surfaces touched by the public, including election equipment used during early voting, and others.
Employees who are parents or guardians of students in Fulton County Schools or other school systems closed due to COVID-19 will be granted administrative leave.
In addition, we have asked departments to limit official travel. Any employees who have recently returned from personal travel to any of the high-risk countries identified by the CDC have been asked to take administrative leave for 14 days after return.
Fulton County leadership will continue to assess the impact of COVID-19 on our operations and make adjustments as needed.
