Commissioner Arrington to begin the 2019 Dads, Daughters, and Dolls plus Sons drive

December 05, 2019

As part of the effort to reach out to families in need this holiday season, Fulton County District 5 Commissioner Marvin S. Arrington, Jr., in partnership with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, is inviting residents to support the annual Dads, Daughters, and Dolls Plus Sons drive. This is an effort to collect new dolls and other toys for children of men incarcerated in the Fulton County Jail.  Children will receive handwritten letters from their fathers in addition to the gifts provided by donors.

"As a parent, I know what the holiday season means to my children, but I am also keenly aware that joy of the season is lost on children whose fathers cannot share the holiday with them due to incarceration,” says Commissioner Arrington. "Every girl and boy deserves to enjoy holiday festivities and we want to be sure to bring that excitement to children despite whatever circumstances confront their parents."

This Drive takes place from December 2, 2019 through December 13, 2019 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Participants are asked contribute toys for children between the ages of 1 and 12 by dropping off donations at the following locations:

Fulton County Government Center
141 Pryor Street SW
Atlanta, GA 30303

Oak Hill Child, Adolescent & Family Health Center
2805 Metropolitan Parkway
Atlanta, GA 30315

South Fulton Service Center
5600 Stonewall Tell Road
College Park, GA 30349

The drive will conclude with a gift wrapping party at Suite Food Lounge; 375 Luckie Street NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30313 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2019.

Those planning to attend the latter event can RSVP at www.ddds2019.eventbrite.com. This year’s drive is sponsored by Commissioner Arrington in conjunction with Suite Food Lounge, Hardnett Enterprises, Nancy’s Chicago Pizza, Outside Looking In, Dream Photography Group LLC, Ready Renovations USA, and Man Up Worldwide.
