Will Wooten has dedicated his entire legal career to serving his community as both a prosecutor and a public defender. Prior to joining the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, Will served as a prosecutor in the Clayton County District Attorney’s Office and the Gwinnett County Solicitor-General’s Office. Before becoming a prosecutor, he spent several years as a public defender in Knoxville, Tennessee. In Clayton County, he prosecuted major felony offenses including murder, rape, child molestation, and drug trafficking. He also was responsible for handling Clayton County’s major white-collar offenses and advised fellow ADAs on best practices for prosecuting those cases.
In each of his roles, Will has helped coordinate training for new attorneys and interns; introducing them to the criminal justice system and helping them develop courtroom skills. He participates as a faculty member with the Emory University School of Law Kessler-Eidson Program for Trial Techniques, the largest trial advocacy program in the nation, and he is an active member of the Stonewall Bar Association. Will received his undergraduate degree from the University of Miami and his law degree from Emory University. In his spare time, he enjoys Miami Hurricanes football and hiking Georgia’s beautiful mountains and trails.
