Ilona Rolack is a self-motivated, most energetic, vibrant and hardworking advocate with a warm, caring personality that has a true understanding of human, social and psychological interaction. Her quest to identify and address the social inequities in a globalized world has led her to engage stakeholders in the ranks of UNICEF and PAHO/WHO. In the early years of her career, 1997- 2000, she was part of a team of consultants who assisted the government of her home country of Belize to ratify the Convention on the Rights of the Child and help create the first ever Domestic Violence Unit attached to the police force.
Ilona has served in commendable ways, from a hotline advocate in one of the largest domestic violence and sexual assault centers in Austin, Texas to serving on a human trafficking task force in the state of Hawai’i. It is her life’s work to be an advocate for victims of crime and she has been serving in the field of victimology for over 18 years starting in 2002.
Ilona earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science, magna cum laude at Concordia University at Austin, Texas in 2004 and continued to uplift her standards to further obtain a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology, graduating summa cum laude from Capella University in 2019. As an advocate at Fulton County, Ilona has received many awards to include the District Attorney’s Award for Excellence in Victim Advocacy in 2017 and the Fulton County F.O.C.U.S. Heroes Award in 2018. Ilona currently holds the post of Deputy Victim Witness Advocate in the Major Crimes Unit.
