William McCombs is a highly self-motivated and attention to detail-oriented professional with 28 years of results-driven investigative experience. Mr. McCombs has a long successful track record of competency, knowledge of best practices, and proficiency in oral and written communication, data analysis, and effective organization. His people-centric nature, compassion, and a strong desire for justice and fairness have equipped him with excellent collaborative ability. Mr. McCombs is a dedicated specialist who constantly relishes the opportunity to seek out, and if need be, create better methods of achieving healthy and productive working relationships within organizations where he has worked, with people he has worked with, and for individuals who interact with those entities.
Before joining the Fulton County District Attorney's new dynamic team in 2021, Mr. McCombs owned and operated PinPoint, LLC, a data collection and investigative company, for more than 15 years. He assisted various law firms, attorneys, legal organizations, and private clients with collecting data, conducting criminal and civil investigations, and analyzing data in preparation for court proceedings. As the CEO of PinPoint, LLC, Mr. McCombs has worked with and created trust in abilities and skills-based relationships with some of Georgia's prominent law firms and attorneys. Mr. McCombs has worked with the Metro Capital Defender's Office analyzing and investigating numerous Death Penalty cases to help provide a competent defense to individuals involved in capital cases to attempt to make sure that justice was being administered in a just manner.
Before starting and operating PinPoint, LLC, Mr. McCombs was a Police Officer in the states of California and Georgia. During his 13-year law enforcement career, Mr. McCombs accumulated more than 2300 hours of law enforcement related training hours. During his law enforcement career, Mr. McCombs spent five years as a Criminal Investigator with the Fulton County District Attorney's Office (FCDA). During his previous tenure with the FCDA's Office, Mr. McCombs worked predominately homicide cases and cases involving the sexual assault of women and children. During his law enforcement career, Mr. McCombs worked various assignments and investigations to include homicides, sexual assaults, aggravated assaults, gangs, narcotics, robberies, burglaries, and other crimes against persons and property. Mr. McCombs has served as a law enforcement Firearms Instructor and Defensive Tactics Instructor. He has reviewed, modified, and created policies and procedures along with training procedures for a law enforcement agency to ensure that law enforcement best practices were being utilized.
Mr. McCombs has served as a key member of a state and national Law Enforcement Accreditation Team. He has received numerous law enforcement commendations, awards, and letters of appreciation pertaining to his job performance and expertise.
Before beginning his law enforcement career, Mr. McCombs proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He is a decorated combat veteran with numerous commendations and awards. Mr. McCombs is a 1998 graduate of California State University, San Marcos, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He graduated on the Dean's List while working full-time as a Police Officer. Mr. McCombs is happily married and the proud father of two beautiful daughters.
