Library Volunteers

Library volunteers help the library throughout the year. In 2018, there were 2,413 volunteers who served 60,954 hours valued at a donation of $1,504,954.26. Below are a few areas where volunteers are needed.

 

Library Clerical Aide
Help library staff prepare arts and crafts materials for library programs

 

Library User Survey Assistant
Take counts of library patrons and distribute surveys on library usage. Occurs once a year in the spring. Different shifts available.

 

Math Tutor
Teen volunteers with proficient math skills assist younger individuals with math homework.

 

Program Presenter 

If you have academic credentials or are certified in a specific field, and would like to explore facilitating a program utilizing your expertise, please call 404-612-9486.

 

Shape Up The Shelves! 
Small groups of 5-10 volunteers help the library clean up shelves and find lost items.

 

Shelving Assistant
Volunteers help alphabetize, sort and return items to the shelves.

 

Spanish Language Teacher
Volunteers fluent in Spanish and familiar with teaching techniques are needed to present a workshop series on basic Spanish.

 

Special Program Assistant
Volunteers can help with special holiday programs and the Summer Reading Program June 1-August 1. Assist with set up, event coordination, and clean up.

 

Teen Advisory Board (TAB)
Work directly with librarians to create and host successful teen programs.

 

 

How to Volunteer:

  • Anyone is welcome to volunteer. Minors are required to have a parent or guardian sign permission for them to be able to participate.
  • An application must be filled out and submitted. Applications can be submitted to the Volunteer Services Office at vol.services@fultoncountyga.gov or dropped off at any of our open branch location
